Gym Fit Out – Rugby

This Gym Fit Out project was somewhat unique given that the owner/operator of the new site was in fact our Mr Colin Whittingham who is not only a Director here at Storage Concept’s but also the Team Leader for our gym fit out design team.

Colin worked closely with the Anytime Fitness Head Office Team to design a 2 storey gym site show casing all of the turnkey package works offered by Storage Concepts whilst delivering a high end design lead aesthetic, meeting all of the required brand standards.

The shell site presented some significant challenges including the requirement for removal of an escalator and its replacement with a bespoke staircase prior to the main fit out works commencing.

Construction show cased all of the usual turnkey package elements including partitions, wall linings, flooring and decorative finishes together with full mechanical, electrical and plumbing works.

Colin commented on the install:

“It was something of a unique experience for me being poacher and gamekeeper, acting as both the contractor and the client. Owning and operating the Rugby site for 4 years has given me something of a unique perspective on gym fit out projects given that I have a clear understanding of the concerns and issues of the operators, not only during the build programme but also thereafter with the need for high quality robust installations which will serve the test of time. I sold the Rugby site in January 2020 but believe that my period as owner/operator allows me to offer my clients in the gym industry a clear and broad understanding of the challenges faced”
