Gym Fit Out – Dorchester

Location: Dorchester

This was a very interesting Gym Fit out project to work on, involving the creation of a new upper floor gym facility for Anytime Fitness within an existing Grade II listed building in the centre of Dorchester.

In liaison with the Listings Officer we were able to retain unique features within the building including exposed oak beams and feature brick walls.

Working closely with the Franchisee, and the developer’s contractor, we incorporated acoustic flooring and sound proofing to key areas whilst being sympathetic to the original structure.

The multi-tiered gym offering included a ground floor entrance zone & feature staircase, with a sound proofed and enclosed spin room and hit studio on a first landing mezzanine.

The main gym space being accessed on the upper floor also incorporated a split tier, with functional training on a raised platform, again retained from the original building.

Mechanical and electrical installations were left exposed to give an industrial feel, and careful lighting and finishes provide a modern contemporary twist on a Grade II listed interior.

The franchisees were delighted with the completed project and subsequently went on to instruct Storage Concepts to build a second site for them in Christchurch.

They worked closely with us, the Landlords developer, & AF UK HQ to get to an integrated design, meeting the aesthetic requirements for the brand, whilst enhancing the unique features of our building.
Colin even assisted us in the lease negotiations with the Landlord and as a result we were able to gain additional capital contributions from them towards the build costs.
The build was completed ahead of schedule and on budget and we would be pleased to recommend their services to anyone looking at Gym fit out projects.”
