The Brookes’ taking on the London Marathon!
23 April 2017 – London Marathon We are Georgie and Cameron Brookes aged 23 and 21 and for some mad reason we decided to take part in this year’s London Marathon and in the process raise as much money as possible for LOROS. LOROS Hospice is a local charity which every year cares for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Their aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay. LOROS specialises in holistic, multidisciplinary care, focused on the whole person and including family and carers. The care given considers the patients’ physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs as well as their own choices. Family members are supported in adjusting to loss and bereavement. Having lost a close family friend to cancer last year we chose this charity as it offers so much support to both the patient and their families at their greatest time of need. And with the statistic that 1 in every 2 people will be affected by cancer sometime during their life, it’s good to know that there are great charities like LOROS ready to help. But they can only do this with the help of fundraisers and so that is why we have both chosen to run for them. We would be very grateful for any donations towards this fantastic charity and to help encourage us both to finish the 26.2 miles!! To make a donation please go the following web site: www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/cameronandgeorgie Alternatively you can forward a cheque to Storage Concepts Ltd, Pate Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0RG made payable to LOROS. Thank you. Georgie and Cameron Brookes
